The Basic Sciences Building (Duwakot, Bhaktapur)

This Basic Science complex is twenty minutes from the Teaching Hospital premises at Sinamangal and is well served by transport facilities. The pollution free environment and the scenic locale of Duwakot is an ideal place to start one's medical education. Apart from Nepali students we also have had students from India, Fiji, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and USA. The basic science faculties are staffed as per the Nepal Medical Council guidelines. The Basic Sciences Complex is a four storied building. The complex also houses the academic and examination section, lecture halls, library and canteen. There are also sufficiently equipped departments as well as large academic areas and residential facilities for faculty, staff and students. There is a community hospital at Duwakot. Presently it has 50 beds but will be increased later to 100 beds. This institution will cater to long term patients eg., orthopaedic, rehabilitative and geriatric. The present bed strength of KMC Teaching Hospital at Sinamagal is 700.
